Perceptics Fixed Camera

Optimized images for vehicle recognition

Better Images, Better Reads

The durable Perceptics Fixed Camera captures consistent and clear images of personal and commercial vehicles, day and night. When it comes to vehicle recognition, our Fixed Camera produces fewer exclusions and a higher level of accuracy for automated reads.

Benefits

Optimized Images

with clear, high-contrast resolution

Our 5MP fixed camera uses strobe illumination to generate crisp, high-contrast images that make automated vehicle recognition a breeze. With different filtering and illumination options, we’ll work together to optimize camera images based on what you need to capture.

Flexible Implementation

with multiple configuration options

Our cameras are configurable to your use case. We offer both color and monochrome imagers with multiple power, filter, reflector and baffle options. To ensure seamless incorporation with existing infrastructure, we also provide multiple different mounting options.

Automation Enabled

with multiple software pairings

Our cameras are optimized to pair with Perceptics’ identification software to produce the most consistent and accurate results. With our multiple software pairing options, you can enable Perceptics cameras to automatically read license plates, DOT numbers, hazmat placards and more.

Hands-On Configuration

Location, vehicle speed, traffic volume, time of day and what you’re capturing can all influence camera configurations. The purchase of each fixed camera includes site geometry validation. Our team will work closely with you to determine the right imager type, illumination, filter, and mounting selections based on these variables.

Imager Variations

Color Imager

Our color imagers help accurately distinguish important visible characteristics like plate graphics and vehicle color, making them ideal for electronic toll collection. These imagers use visible light with unfiltered external illumination. Because of this, they have the brightest flash of our three imagers.

Monochrome Imager with External Illumination

The monochrome imager is our most versatile, capturing clear, crisp images for most applications. The filtered external strobe offers a less bright flash than the color imager, making it a great option for DOT recognition or any time when a bright flash might be hazardous.

Monochrome Imager with Internal LED Illumination

This imager has integrated LED illumination and uses an IR filter for the least bright flash of the three options. This solution is great for tight spaces when a separate strobe cannot be mounted. However, LED illumination is not recommended for non-retroreflective license plates, hazmat placards and DOT numbers.

Our Recommended Solution Pairings

For Accurate Vehicle RecognitionFixed Camera + Summitt LPR, DOT, Container Code or Hamat

Enable accurate vehicle recognition and freight tracking by pairing our fixed camera with any of our four Summitt Identification modules. Our fixed camera was designed to capture enhanced images that work optimally with our automated vehicle recognition software.

For Consistent Performance Fixed Camera + Summitt Beacon

Pairing our cameras with Summitt Beacon is the easiest way to ensure consistent performance. Summitt Beacon monitors the performance and health of cameras in the field and displays results in a convenient dashboard. When errors occur, Beacon sends an automated alert to minimize downtime.
