Efficient Container Tracking and Processing
In the United States alone, over 100,350 truck, rail, and sea containers pass through borders daily. Imagine processing each of those containers by hand. Our Summitt Container Code software enhances efficiency, security, and accuracy at terminals and ports by automatically reading shipping container information and reporting it to the existing back office system.
Benefits
Improves Operational Efficiencies
with electronic tracking
With the large volume of containers passing through ports and terminals daily, manual tracking is neither practical nor effective. Summitt Container Code processes up to 1,200 trucks per hour for significant time savings. Our software integrates with operational systems to return the owner code, serial number, and check digit in near real-time. Automating this process reduces delays and costly backlogs and minimizes errors from manual tracking, ensuring swift and accurate documentation.
Cost-effective and Scalable
with easy integration
Enhance your system without expensive hardware upgrades. Summitt Container Code integrates seamlessly with your imagine and backend systems and offers flexible configurations to meet your specs. Whether you need to identify container types and countries, compare multiple data points for greater accuracy, or support additional lanes, Summitt Container Code scales with you.
Consistent, Reliable Results
in virtually any environment
Other solutions, like RFID, might experience signal disruptions from various environmental factors including certain materials, extreme weather, and other radio signals. Summitt Container Code reads container code information from images to produce consistent results in all weather conditions, day and night without disruptions. Additionally, our software can be configured to retain image records of containers for verification and damage assessment needs.
How it Works
Summit Container Code leverages one or two images of the side and rear of each container to produce an accurate read of the owner prefix, 6-digit serial number and check digit on at least 95% of all containers with one undamaged, unobstructed, and unobscured ISO 6346 code in its field of view. Optional configurations to include size and type code identification are available, but this may reduce the overall read rate. The software can be paired with Perceptics cameras for optimal results or integrated via API with other systems.
